Cleaning up the data behind your business so you can build what matters
For most of my career, I’ve been in the business of building.
Building companies, building teams, building systems that can scale.
I’ve worn the founder hat, the fundraiser hat, the strategy and operations hat — and at the same time, I’ve been learning how to wear the hat of “mom” with as much grace (and grit) as I can manage.
But through all of it — through the sprints and the pivots and the board meetings and the bedtime routines — there’s one thing that has always stood out to me:
It’s nearly impossible to build something great when your finances are a mess.
And yet, most founders — especially early on — are left to navigate the back office alone. The tools are clunky. The systems don’t talk to each other. And the stress that piles up around bookkeeping, tax, payroll, and compliance can quietly sabotage even the best ideas.
I know this because I’ve lived it. And that frustration became the seed of something new.
The Problem Beneath the Problem
I have a PhD in statistics. I live and breathe data. I know the difference between noise and signal — and I’ve seen firsthand how most founders are drowning in the former.
We often think the problem is bookkeeping or taxes or financial systems. But those are just symptoms. The real problem is that the underlying data isn’t structured, organized, or translated into information you can actually use.
And that’s what Ledgerment is here to help fix.
Ledgerment: From Frustration to Foundation
About a year and a half ago, my husband and I started building Ledgerment — a firm designed to bring sanity and structure to the small business back office. I watched from the sidelines at first, helping where I could while juggling other ventures (and two small kids). But the mission kept tugging at me. Because I’ve seen how back-office chaos quietly undermines brilliant people. And I’ve seen how clean data — reliable, timely, human-readable financial data — can completely change the trajectory of a business.
So now I’m stepping in full-time, bringing both my experience as a founder and my grounding in data management to the core of Ledgerment’s work.
What We’re Really Solving
Ledgerment is more than accounting.
It’s not just tax season checklists or compliance boxes. It’s about restoring trust in your numbers — and confidence in your decisions.
We serve founders and small business owners who:
- Feel like something’s not quite right in the books, but can’t put their finger on it
- Struggle to understand their cash flow, even when sales are strong
- Juggle building a business with raising a family, and need systems that don’t fall apart when life gets messy
If that’s you, know this:
You’re not behind. You’re not alone. And you don’t have to keep guessing.
Ledgerment helps you rebuild the financial backbone of your business — so everything else can grow on solid ground.
Looking Ahead: MOBHQ — Mom-Owned Businesses HQ
One community I care deeply about is moms who are building businesses. Because when you’re running a company and a household, clarity isn’t a luxury — it’s a lifeline.
That’s why I’m also quietly (or not so quietly now!) building MOBHQ — Mom-Owned Businesses HQ: a movement focused on giving moms the tools, education, and support to lead confidently both at home and in business. If Ledgerment is the engine, MOB will be the community.
More on that soon.
